Lara Armstrong, is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor who has been practicing in Ancaster since 2005. She received her training in Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), graduating in 2004 and received her undergraduate training from the University of Guelph.
Lara maintains a general family practice, treating a variety of different conditions, but commonly treats digestive complaints such as IBS, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. She has also received training as a Doula (birthing assistant) and has special interest in all stages of birth from assisting fertility to delivery.
Dr. Armstrong’s services are offered out of the Foot-Knee-Back Total Health Clinic, located at 3 Wilson Street East in Ancaster. The clinic also houses 2 massage therapists, pedorthist and chiropractic services.
In 2007, Lara started the Menopause/Andropause clinic with Dr. Marianna Switchuk at Monarch Laser and Wellness Centre in Hamilton. This is a specialty clinic that offers a naturopathic approach to treating menopause. The clinic offers the use of bio-identical hormones, which are prescribed by the medical doctor.
In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Armstrong also devotes some time to teaching at the Canadian Therapeutic College, where she teaches basic science courses to future health care professionals. She is also part of a mentoring program with the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at Mc Master University and will have medical students shadowing appointments from time to time.
